This is a real vintage pickguard that came off of a custom Gibson Super 400 or L-5 Wes Montgomery (single neck humbucker) guitar. This is Gibson's second version of the Super 400's marbleized pickguard material, which is long out of production. This version has a more cranberry hue than the early Super 400 material and the Super 400-style material currently available.
It's in great shape, NO signs of off gassing or disintegration! Light surface playwear on the front, but nothing noticeable. There's an existing half of an ebony mounting block still glued to the back of the guard. If desired, I can remove that old block, cut this for a Bridge pickup or even fill/restore the existing screw hole for a small fee.
