Modded in-house by 1929, we've got a 1995 Peerless-made Epiphone Emperor Regent Backdated to a 50s/60s jazz setup: a Charlie Christian pickup and a 17" Venetian cutaway L-5 shape. Jazz guitar greats Hank Garland, Barney Kessel, Tal Farlow... they all used a very similar setup. This early Emperor Regent has been modified to fit a Pete Biltoft CC pickup with a 3-point mount (custom wound to our specs), gold speed knobs, gold Gibson style tailpiece, handbound Super 400 style marbleized pearloid pickguard, CTS pots, orange drop capacitor, and a Switchcraft jack. Nice new gold Gotoh tuners too! All the good stuff.
This is a USED guitar that has been modified. It has a good handful of small dings and nicks on the body and headstock that give it an honest "played" look. The most chipping is on the top of the headstock, which I've shown in the photos. There are small finish cracks that are not structural at the neck joint. The cracks do not go around the whole neck, and the heel joint is still as tight as from the factory. I've shown the finish cracks in the photos as well. I think it probably got bumped in shipping at some point, but it only flexed and didn't break any of the wood or joints. I've had it tuned up for a while now, and there are no issues. The cosmetic flaws are pretty minor for a 29-year-old guitar. Plays and sounds great!
